Get to know me, your future Mayor, Tyran Colvin
Dear Chickasaw,
My name is Tyran Colvin, a lifelong resident and business owner. I am running for Mayor and ask for your vote on August 26th.
Some have given up on Chickasaw saying, "we're too far gone". Call me crazy, but I see opportunities all over hiding in plain sight that simply need to be developed and marketed in the right way.
For the past 44 years, my career has been in sales, marketing, recruiting and business management. I currently own a very successful copier/printer dealership, BIS Office Systems that I started from the ground up in 2009. We operate in three states and are one of the top Kyocera dealers in the southeast.
Living in Chickasaw for so long, I have witnessed a once thriving, darling, little community, find itself in a very depressed situation. This is what has driven my desire to serve, as I seem to have a natural talent for turning lemons in to lemonade. Plus, I have the right combination of sales experience, business and marketing skill to get us back on track.

Vision for Chickasaw
Ensure that our streets and neighborhoods are safe: Priority #1!
Improve City Services: City Hall should be open 5 days a week during normal business hours to better serve the citizens .
Business Friendly: I will ensure the business climate in Chickasaw is ripe and attractive for investors. We must get this city growing again. It's been stagnant for way too long. I have the skill to do it.
Transparency: This is something that is always promised by candidates but never delivered. I will be the one who changes that.
Beautification: Our city must look its best to attract homeowners and businesses. This is one area my administration will stay focused on, street by street.
Animal Control: This service has not been given the attention or resources it needs to adequately function and that must change. Those who abuse or neglect an animal will face prosecution.
Support the School System: to ensure they succeed and are the envy of other schools. When they win, we all win!
Bring back Civic Organizations: I think it is important we try to re-start the Woman's Club and the Garden Club, for instance. They provide a monumental value to the community.
Improve Quality of Life: A focus of mine will be to create things to enhance life and look for opportunities that unite our community.
Work with our Chamber and Historic Society: to ensure they are functioning as they should and effective in their respective missions.
